We take extra care in packaging our tallow. Each block is wrapped in parchment paper, then shrink-wrapped for protection, and immediately frozen. This process locks in freshness, and we advise continuing frozen storage for the longest shelf life.

Currently, we do not provide a fatty acid profile for our tallow.

No questionable preservatives are added.  We only use natural preservatives, such as the natural Vitamin E content added to the tallow.

The natural hardness of tallow can vary. If you find your tallow is too soft for your needs, here are some options:

For skincare balms or salves:

• Adding a small amount of beeswax to your melted tallow will significantly increase its hardness. Melt the two together gently, and adjust the ratio to your liking.
• You can also blend it with harder butters, such as shea or cocoa butter, for a firmer consistency.

For candle making:

• Stearic acid is a common additive that will harden tallow and improve candle stability.

It is important to remember that tallow will become softer in warmer environments. Therefore, if you will be using your tallow product in a warm location, you will need to add more of the hardening agent.

At Nature’s Gift Tallow, we utilize a dry rendering method.

The dry rendering process helps us preserve the beneficial fatty acids in the tallow, which can be stripped away during wet rendering. This ensures a higher quality and more nutrient-dense final product.

We use a specially designed 4-ply filtration system to ensure our tallow is pure and free of impurities.
